FASHION WEEKEND: QUINN @SEA OF DAISIES

Week three of FASHIONWEEKEND, and this time we speak to Quinn from Sea of Daises, a personal style blog following the life of a fashion and thrifting loving 17-year-old living in Canada.

1 - It’s Friday night after a long week at work, where are you heading to unwind and what are you wearing on your feet?
I recently bought my dream shoes, the Jeffrey Campbell Tardy, and I've been wearing them non-stop ever since, so, I'd definitely be wearing those. Since I'm only 17, I'd probably be heading to my friend's house to play Scrabble or something nerdy like that. I also love sushi, so maybe I'd be heading out for a massive sushi feast. I can eat so much of that stuff.

2 - You’ve headed to the newest club in your town and the dress code is over-the-top and as-much-glitz-as-poss, ideally, what striking dress do you choose to wear?
Well, as I mentioned before, I'm only 17, so let's just pretend I can legally get into a club...I don't own anything too over-the-top, so naturally I'd have to go shopping. I love the Versace for H&M collection. The bright shade of pink in some of the pieces reminds me of a  dorky (but awesome) pair of shorts I had when I was a little kid.  I'd probably be wearing something like this dress pictured left with a pair of classic black pumps.

3 - The morning after: the temperature’s dropped yet you have an oh-so-important shopping trip to attend to, what accessories do you throw on to keep warm, comfy but chic?
I'd be wearing my super warm leopard print faux fur Guess coat that I got for my birthday and my Rampage lace up booties with a  pair of slouchy socks, like this.

4 - Drinks with the girls/boys Saturday afternoon in a trendy retro-like bar and your dressing to make an impression, what vintage themed items do you choose without looking too much like a confused time-traveller?
High waisted shorts are a staple in my wardrobe, so I would most likely be wearing something like this outfit pictured left. I believe that if an outfit ever looks too outlandish, all you have to do is throw on a blazer. It works 9 times out of 10. I would also try to fit as many rings as I could onto my fingers and then I’d be good to go!

5 - Saturday night ends you up at home with a partner or friend with DVD’s and nachos a-plenty. How do you stay comfy without looking like a walking bed sheet?
I LOVE wearing giant men's flannel shirts as lounge clothing, but I also have an unhealthy obsession with oversized sweaters that practically eat me alive, like this one pictured right. I also have this pair of weird sock-slipper hybrid things with reindeer on them that I got from the dollar store. In all honesty, though, I'm pretty much the definition of a walking bed sheet. My mom always jokes about how I leave the house looking so put together in the morning, but the moment I come home, I put my pyjamas on. I think it's important to have that balance, otherwise I'd probably go crazy.

6 - Lunch with the parents is on the agenda for Sunday and its time to tone down your sometimes arguably outrageous fashion (that lands you plenty of odd glances from the elder generation). How do you keep your style footprint on a much more subtle and parent-pleasing outfit?
I have a polka dot dress with an adorable pussy bow that I got from Forever 21. It just screams prim and proper, so It's the perfect dress for this sort of occasion. I'd wear it with a light coloured jumper like this one pictured left, to make it look a little more casual and I’d throw on a plain pair of brogues. I think my family is pretty used to the way I dress by now, though. At least I hope they are!

I thoroughly enjoyed Quinn's answer and I hope you did to!

IN OTHER NEWS, I'm heading to Austria in the middle of the night tonight for a week long Ski-ing trip with my Mum so I will be MIA for a while. If I can manage to get some internet access I'll be able to publish some posts I have saved but if not, see you all on New Years Day!
