ROOM TOUR: MY NEST

What my room looks like has always been strangely important to me: I tend to be very finicky with colour schemes, general themes and tidy storage. I've lived where I'm living now for 10 years and my nest has gone through a number rather different (and sometimes tragic) changes. 

A granny-suite with pale pink textured wallpaper and a fading and oddly-patterned 80's carpet, quickly changed to a subtle pretty-pretty purple haven with thousands of stuffed animals clogging up every corner. Then the typical pre-teen phase of 'O.M.G I'm a REAL GIRL' led to the 4 year existence of my pink boudoir. Pink walls, pink television & telephone, pink bed sheets, painfully bright pink lampshade and the list goes on to a ridiculous extent! 

The far-too warm glow of my room slowly faded as the fuchsia walls were replaced with a much more sophisticated neutral magnolia and the versatile monochrome colour scheme fell into place. 

Since then, I've spent many evenings making collages and wall displays to fill up the blank canvas and I think finally I'm completely happy with my room!
