OOTD: WINTER CHECK

Fur hat - DIY
Leather jacket - H&M
Shirt - Dad's (brande - 'maine')
Jeans - Pepe Jeans
Shoes - Factory Shop/DIY

The temperature has suddenly burst back up again, making my already near-impossible clothing battle with the British winter weather even more difficult.

When in doubt of what to wear and after I've spent ridiculous amounts of time staring blankly into my wardrobe,  I usually head to my parents room to see if I can find some old hidden treasures.

Today led to success in the form of a checked shirt in a pale green hue borrowed from my dad. Paired with a new pair of Pepe jeans (in a ridiculously small size) and my cropped leather jacket I was pretty set for the day. Because of the detailed buttoned-front and daring print I left the outfit without jewellery and instead included a tiny bit of gold in my wedges.

OOTD: RE-FUR-BISHED COLLAR

Jumper - thrifted
Jeans - Primark
Fur collar - DIY
Boots - unknown
Bracelet - DIY
Brooch - vintage

SAD STORY: I spent weeks on end working like a slave in my local pub/restaurant, disregarding any social events (and sometimes even sleep!), to save for a beautiful duffle coat from Topshop. Hanging proudly on the shop rail basking in its own olive green colour and subtle fur a-plenty, it's extensive price tag was worth those long shifts and late night meals with my feet visibly throbbing.

Once mine, I wore it everywhere: walking the dog, to and from school, to and from work and occasionally in the house, obviously when it was 'really cold'. Sometimes I'd try and hide the fact I wore it almost every day by taking the hood off, you know, just to be a little bit daring...

However, our relationship was short lived as a manic two-week slot of work experience, involving darting in and out of Costa regularly, visting far too many charity shops and trying on an excessive amount of vintage dresses led to my last sighting of my beloved coat.

After a few almost tearful phone calls (I am joking. Honestly!) to Costa and various other shops my lack of luck led me to give up with my search. Which leads me to a question that I use far to regularly - "Where the bloomin' heck has it gone?".

There isn't a cliche light-in-the-end-of-the-tunnel in this story, but more of a dimly lit candle and a slice of bread to keep me going while I wait for rescue. I cleverly managed to take off the hood before I lost it (I now say this was completely intentional to suggest some sort of psychic ability) which featured the pretty fur I was so besotted by originally.

After an hour spent, that should have been spent studying, unpicking, I managed to detached this fur collar featured above. There's no denying the itchy-ness of it is close to unbearable but with my pretty lizard brooch this becomes a 'suffer-to-be-beautiful' scenario.

Thanks for reading and happy Tuesday!

OOTD: CLASH, BANG AND FUR

Fur Coat - Republic
Shirt - Vintage/DIY
Trousers - Primark

Sometimes I think, and within the fashion community I don't believe I'm alone, that clashing prints, colours and fabrics is my favourite type of styling within an outfit. It's that style that turns heads on the streets and a wave of 'Wow-I'd-Never-Have-Thought-To-Have-Done-That' looks leave a pleasing smirk on your face.

Whether you choose to grab that pretty white lacey number and shove on your biker boots and jacket or maybe cuddle up to a huge cable knit over some tight leather trousers, creating an almost 50/50 type contrast is bound to keep your outfit interesting.

I don't necessarily think an outfit has to include 'trends' or 'must-haves' of the season, although having that beautiful wine-stained colour on anything is my favourite this Winter, as long as you have an interesting clash and combination you can constantly re-new and re-fresh your wardrobe contents.

OOTD: MY LITTLE LIZARD

Top: Bay Trading
Cardi, shorts, tights, socks, necklace & bag: Primark (I'm so cheap!)
Boots: Shoezone/DIY
Lizard: vintage

Favourites: it's hard to pick just one, but we all have our crazy phases where we are literally OBSESSED with a certain fabric, colour or print. Whether its that gorgeous dusty pink chiffon we found on that skirt and now we find in shirts, dresses or accessories which we almost literally run to in a shop, or maybe its that striking aztec skirt that seemed to cause a whole army of vibrant aztec pieces to appear in EVERY shop we walked in clearly bringing our obsession to the attention of friends and family.

I have fallen under the wrath of this 'disease' for a very autumnal berry colour which I seemed to have developed a radar detector for and end up with a basket full of it at the till, where a friendly cashier politely jokes "You like this colour don't you.."

My most recent berry collective is a pair of high waisted shorts, topped off with some chunky golden buttons. They're a tad bit big, but nothing that my trusty Janome couldn't fix.

Please excuse my far-too-regular wearing of these biker boots, I'm obsessed with their comfort, good quality and pretty lace.

Thanks for reading!

OOTD: DAD'S CARDI

Dress: unknown
Cardigan: Dad's
Tights: Primark
Boots: Shoezone/DIY
Necklaces: French, Primark
Bracelet: Primark
Socks: Primark
Belt: New Look

This insane ever-changing British weather has led to many shopping trips to Primark to try and keep up with keeping warm/cool without burning a huge hole in my purse!

I find myself buying more winter clothes from Primark than summer clothes as I feel you're getting better quality products for lower prices - Primark sell incredible knits. I got myself some knee high socks, plenty of tights and some chunky jumpers.

On a more negative note, I've had to get rid of most of the red in my hair because of petty school rules which threaten me with exclusion and isolated lessons. However I'm leaving school in around 7 months and planning on going straight back bright red, but as of now my poor hair needs a rest from dyes!

Just like to thank every single person that has visited, followed or commented on my blog, reading comments and watching all my stats go up is the best feeling ever. I love that what I enjoy writing and photographing, other people enjoy reading!

OOTD: THE MORNING AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE

TOP - thrifted
JEANS - Primark
BOOTS - unknown
NECKLACE - Topshop

This is what a wore last night to go 'pubbing' with friends.

I found this pretty little 'crop' top in a charity shop in wales, but it's actually a size 18 top that must've shrunk and therefore been sent off to be thrifted. It's a really girly shape, but the black toughens it up a bit and acid wash jeans finish it off perfectly.

These boots were from one of those shops that's open for a few weeks and then swiftly disappears before you get chance to shop there more than once. I think these were £15 - bargain!

Sorry for my lack of posting, just gone back to school and it's all a bit manic.

Lots of love!

OOTD: AUTUMN AURA

Top - Next
Shorts - River Island
Boots - Shoezone/DIY
Necklace - Gift/French shop
Bracelet - H&M
Coat - Republic

Not enjoying being back at school, really hate the place :( On the plus side I went for an amazing curry tonight for my Dad's 58th (oh my gosh!) birthday and this is what I wore.

It's getting pretty cold here in the Midlands which is sort of good, I can't wait to wear this coat all day rather than just in the evening and very early morning.

I've got an amazing black vintage dress 'upcycle' to blog about tomorrow, look out for it!

OOTD: I HAVE NO FACE

After an another amazing day doing work experience at my local paper (I wrote an article on a vintage clothes shop, interviewed a comedian and wrote an article on another comedian) I took a well-needed trip down to the river side in my new coat.

(looking a little bit pregnant in this last one, but I promise its just the way the jumper fits!)

Fur coat - Republic
Crochet jumper - Thrifted
Striped mini skirt - River island
Tights - Primark
Biker boots (only just seen in one picture) - Primark

Thanks for visiting, I'm really shocked at all the comments I've received over the past few weeks I've had this blog. I read and appreciate every single one!

Expect a mini DIY tomorrow...

OOTD: BIG BRICK WALL

Found this gorgeous purple aztec-ish top today in a charity shop for £2! I love the way the neckline is cut in a sort of rectangular shape - the pictures don't do it justice though. It's slightly cropped which I like as well.

Although it's a fairly summery top I'm hoping I'll be able to layer it up through Autumn & Winter.

yay for massive bargaaaaains!

OOTD: LEOTARD VS FOREST

Following a really tedious day moving furniture and computers between rooms (indecision can be painful) I found it necessary to shoot off into the woods as soon as I got home for a well needed 'wind-down'.

Leotard - vintage, thrifted
Jeggings - H&M
Brogues - Primark
Scarf - thrifted
Necklaces(in length order): market, French gift shop, Primark

During my lunch break today, I couldn't resist raiding the local charity shops.  Shoved at the back of Cancer Research there was a small clothing rail labeled 'Vintage/Retro', which a 'discreetly' ran to. I found a floral lady suit, 80's baby blue jumper and a pink blazer but left with this velvet leotard which I lovelovelove - even if it is a bit on the 'snug' side...

(cheeky hand shot showing you my nail varnish - Barry M - and dolphin ring - italiaaa -)

Much love, thank you for reading!
